Each year, the
children and youth at the convention participate in a
servant event to help othersin need. This year, they are
collecting Bibles for distribution at the Brenner Children’s
Hospital on the campus of the Baptist Hospital
in Winston-Salem, N.C.
The hospital will
distribute Bibles to children ages 2-10.The adults will
collect large-print Bibles for older patients at the Baptist
Hospital and residents of nursing facilities in the
Greensboro area.
Children and youth
will also make prayer cards and memory labels to be placed
in each Bible.
According to Randy
Killian, Convention Committee chairman, “We encourage
convention attendees to bring new Bibles to donate or bring
extra money to purchase Bibles at the convention. Our goal
is for LLL groups in North Carolina and convention attendees
to donate 500 children’s and youth Bibles and 500
large-print Bibles.”
Children’s Bibles will
be available for purchase for $5 and large print Bibles for
$11.
